This year marks the 50th anniversary of Earth day with millions of people celebrating from around the world by doing things like planting trees, picking up trash, or volunteering and although we are stuck at home right now, there are plenty of things we can do to help take care of our planet.
Go for a walk
Enjoy some sunshine and fresh air, of course while maintaining 6 feet of distance from others, and pick up some trash along the way 😊
Plant a tree
Do some gardening in your back yard or go plant a tree. You can even get trees delivered to your home from places like Home Depot and Lowes.
Donate
Since 2010, Earth Day Network has planted tens of millions of trees with The Canopy Project. Go to https://www.earthday.org/campaign/the-canopy-project/ to donate. Every dollar donated plant’s a tree!
Go green at home
Using sustainable materials and energy efficient appliances reduces waste and can help you lower many of your household bills- from your water and electric bills to your insurance premiums. Go to https://www.energystar.gov/ to learn more!
It is important to remember, we are all in this together, and together we can make a difference.
